Personally I feel there are few more beautiful images than any woman veiled at Mass. I love their piety and only pray that more women would wear simple lace veils at Mass. It’s so inspiring to me in the faith and devotion.
When I was at a Steubenville youth conference, there was this thing where you wrote something kind or a little message on a clothing pin and tried to pin it onto somebody's clothes or bag without them noticing. Me and my friends succeeded in "clothespinning" two religious sisters' veils...it was hilarious.
Beautifully summed up thank you. Actually I was called by God to cover my hair always when I took a vow of perpetual celibacy in the single life though still living in the world. I did it because I have beautiful hair, really lovely and I felt it was to be only for my spouse, Jesus. Even though I am an older woman I also chose never to wear make up or any sort of adornment so that I would not draw the attention of men inadvertently - since that would be dishonest to give the impression I am free, when I am not. Even though my hair is always covered, I still veil at mass, a beautiful 'wedding veil' which is seen in the picture of my latest post - a beautiful hand made Italian lace veil which I wear in memory of my vow as well as a white gold ring.
Thank you for giving me words for some of my reasons, though I am not a religious, some of it applies. God bless you
